Legacy Properties

What is a legacy property?

A parent dies without a will. Children move in and don't have legal title to the property, but they are paying the utility bills. Maybe paying the taxes, maybe paying the mortgage...maybe not.

When  a crisis occurs--the occupants of these legacy programs are barred from getting assistance because they aren't owners or tenants.

It's more common in low income communities than you think.
